Ever since I was six years old, I have dreamt of becoming a veterinarian. I wanted to heal animals and make the world a kinder place. My journey began in the world of marine mammals – I trained in some of the most prestigious facilities like SeaWorld and Loro Parque, believing that was where I could make the biggest difference.
But standing behind the glass of those tanks, I realised something profound: I didn’t want to heal animals in captivity – I wanted to help them stay wild and free.
I also was advised by the head vet at the marine park that to be a great marine animal vet I should first get more hands-on experience in clinical and surgical practise.
So, I shifted paths. I spent years in small animal practice, mastering medicine and surgery, running my own clinic, and eventually selling it to follow my heart’s true calling – marine and wildlife conservation.
From rescuing stranded dolphins and sea turtles to working with wildlife in South Africa, Costa Rica, the Maldives, Fiji, the Bahamas, and Colombia – I discovered that conservation is not just a job, it’s a way of life.
Along the way, I became plant-based to heal myself from a long list of ailments, reduce animal suffering and fight climate change, published two books (Small Animal emergencies and The Year I Went Wild), and started picking up plastic on every beach I set foot on around the globe.
Today, my mission is to help wild animals and other human beings – especially veterinarians, students, and mid-career dreamers – find their own wild purpose.
Because it’s never too late to reinvent yourself, protect the planet, and live a life that truly matters.
Welcome to my website, if you want to become a conservanist too and live a life with purpose too then I suggest to take this short yet hands on course: Go Wild: Finding Your Purpose in Conservation.
